The 26th Annual Pensacola Crawfish Festival
April 30, May 1 & 2, 2010
The Pensacola Crawfish Festival celebrates the Cajun influence in our community, and the 2010 event was held April 30 - May 2 on the waterfront in Bartram Park in downtown Pensacola. This event is one of the largest crawfish boils in the state!
There was Cajun style partying in Bartram Park!! Don't leave your appetite at home because the Pensacola Crawfish Festival brings a little of the Louisiana bayou to Pensacola Bay.There was a wide range of Cajun fare such as crawfish poboys, crawfish pies, and of course, boiled crawfish, as well as traditional hot dogs, hamburgers and other local favorites.
Throughout the three-day festival patrons enjoyed great music straight from the bayous of Louisiana on the Stoli Entertainment Stage. Swamp Pop, Cajun and Zydeco toe tappin' entertainment sure got people off their feet!
The Stoli Entertainment Stage was the site of the 5th annual Cat Country 98.7 Crawfish Eating Contest. Contestants participated in the kids, adults, and CrawDADDY divisions. The entry fee was $5 for adults and $10 for the CrawDADDY contest. The kids contest was free. Kids and Adult contests consisted of those who ate 12 crawfish in the fastest time. The CrawDADDY contest consisted of who ate the most crawfish in 98 seconds. Each contestant had to get all of the meat out and suck the head for it to be considered completed. Contestants competed for prizes from Cat Country 98.7. It is harder than it looks to eat your way to victory.
