McLaughlan Southeastern Model Airplane Championship
Saturday, June 12 and Sunday, June 13, 2010

The 51st Annual Fiesta of Five Flags McLaughlan Southeastern Model Airplane Championship at Navy Helicopter Field Site 8A on East Nine Mile Road near the Navy Federal Credit Union complex was held on June 12 - 13, 2010 at 8 a.m. In 2009, contestants from as far away as 600 miles came to compete in this spectacular contest, co-sponsored by the Pensacola Free Flight Team Model Airplane Club.

The model airplane championship is divided into three basic categories: state of the art gas and rubber powered models competing for international recognition; gas and rubber powered balsa and tissue covered models, some of the designs of which go back to the 1930's and gliders. The latter two categories of models are all built by their flyers and are competing for national recognition.
